The topic of the residency is "Artificial intelligence (AI) as factor and consequence of social science and cultural change". Nine fellows from the humanities and social sciences will conduct research on the topic together with the resident. During the residency, the artist will work on a project that should focus in the interface between art and science, explicitly artistic intelligence and its implications for society and the culture of objects.
The residency programme offers the unique opportunity to research on AI and cultural change for artists from the fields of media art, conceptual art, performance, etc. During the residency, the artist becomes member of the TU Dresden's scientific community of researchers and students which opens up the possibility to draw on resources for artistic and creative productions from the TU Dresden and its cooperative partners.
The selected artist will receive acces to a competitive array of institutes and workshops for artistic research, a stipend of 3000 € a month for the whole residency, a studio at TU Dresden and assistance finding accommodation. The TU Dresden will support the production with up to 10,000 € and provide a solo exhibtion at the coonclusion of the residency as well.
More information can be found here. Applications should be submitted before the deadline of 10 May.
